One of the independent animators I’ve been most impressed by, David O’Reilly, just posted about the film The Secret of the Kells. O’Reilly’s first job was apparently working for Cartoon Saloon, the studio behind the film.

The movie premiered in Dublin a few days ago, and looks to be interesting, stylish, and refreshingly free of the snarky “edginess” that is all too common in feature animation these days.
